About

Our Story

Two Generations of Craftsmanship. One Commitment to Getting It Right.

Carter’s Interior Trim, Inc. is more than a business name—it represents a family trade built on craftsmanship, pride, and doing things the right way. James learned the trade from his father, Harvey Carter, beginning in 1996 and carrying forward the lessons that continue to shape his work today: quality over quantity, attention to detail, and no shortcuts.

For James, that tradition extends beyond the work. He’s proud to be raising his two children, Gracie and Colt, here in Northeast Florida. Gracie is a Flagler College graduate, while Colt attends Fletcher Middle School and plays travel baseball. When he’s not on the job, James enjoys fishing, watching football, and spending time with his family.

Our Vision

Craftsmanship You Can See. Reliability You Can Count On.

At Carter’s, quality comes before quantity.

James believes the smallest details can make the biggest difference. Whether he’s installing custom crown molding, building a staircase, creating a coffered ceiling, or completing intricate trim work, he takes the time to make sure everything is right.
That attention to detail is matched by a commitment to reliability. James shows up when he says he will, keeps communication simple and accessible, and takes pride in leaving a clean jobsite behind.

Phone call. Text message. Jobsite question.

He believes being available and communicating with clients and contractors is simply part of doing the job well.

For builders and general contractors, that means having a finish carpenter they can rely on. For homeowners, it means knowing the person working on their home cares about the finished product as much as they do.
